Susan Hutton is an adjunct lecturer at the Faculty of Law at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. Prior to teaching at Queen's, she was a partner in the Competition & Foreign Investment and International Trade practice groups at Stikeman Elliott LLP, where she practiced in Ottawa and Toronto. She has over 30 years of experience practicing administrative law, specializing in competition, foreign investment and international trade law.
Ms. Hutton is a past Chair of the Competition Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association; founding Editor and past Chair of the Editorial Board of the Canadian Competition Law Review, the journal of the Canadian Bar Association's Competition Law Section; Vice-Chair of the International Committee of the American Bar Association's Section of Antitrust Law; and a member of the C.D. Howe Institute's Competition Policy Council.
Prior to entering law, Ms. Hutton worked in the field of economic research, including econometric modelling with the Bank of Canada.
Ms. Hutton has an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Economics (Faculty of Arts Gold Medal) from McGill University, a Bachelor of Laws (Bronze Medal) from the University of Toronto and was called to the Bar in Ontario in 1993.
